The homeowners had a great vision to take this quaint Oakland property into an modernized Bay Area home. There were 2 major undertaking for this project; the first one was an addition of a bedroom on the second story and the second was gutting and updating the entire home. For the addition, we removed an area of the old roof to frame the structure for the addition and installed new siding throughout the entire home. We had to replace the siding throughout the home because the old siding wouldn't match the new siding. Weathering caused the old siding to change color which was almost impossible to match.
For the home renovation, we removed old flooring, updated electrical outlets and panels, gutted the bathrooms, and removed the kitchen's countertops, cabinets, and backsplash. Once the demolition was done, we installed updated LVL flooring across the entire home, new cabinets, countertops, and tiled in a new backsplash in the kitchen, and updated the bathrooms. Additionally, we installed a new 4 range stove with a stainless steel overhead exhaust system, installed new recess light fixtures and kitchen appliances.
As with most full home renovations, this home required a lot of attention to detail. Little things like the bathroom shower niche you'll see in the pictures tend to be neglected in light of larger items but our project managers, Aharon and Avi, aren't the type to forget the finer things.
